1. Flexographic printing machine:
Printing and following processes (such as slotting and die-cutting) can be produced online with high efficiency; Use water-based ink, environmentally friendly; Less damage to the strength of the cardboard. But the printing accuracy is relatively low compared with offset printing, which is not suitable for high-precision dot printing.
Printing process: Printing directly on the formed corrugated cardboard.
Application scenario: Suitable for mass production of transportation packaging cardboard boxes with text and lines as the main patterns, it is currently the most widely printing method in carton box factory.
2. Offset Printing Machine
The printing accuracy is very high, the color reproduction is good, and it can present very fine patterns. But it cannot be directly connected to the carton forming equipment, with multiple processes and low efficiency.
Printing process: print the surface paper first, and then laminate it with corrugated cardboard (pre printing). Some large format models can also directly print micro corrugated cardboard such as G and F flute corrugated cardboard.
Application scenario: Widely used for high requirements printing effects, such as home appliances, electronic products, high-end wine gift boxes, etc.
3. Digital printing machine
No need for plate making, variable data printing, extremely flexible, it can achieve personalized printing and fast prototyping. The investment cost is high, and the unit printing cost is still higher than traditional methods.
Printing process: Using inkjet technology to directly print on corrugated cardboard, full-color images can be printed.
Application scenario: Suitable for short version, variable data, and urgent delivery orders, such as personalized customization of e-commerce express boxes, new product packaging sampling, etc.

Process method and equipment selection

How to choose a suitable printing equipment? it will according to your product positioning and process way:
Post print: it means to printing directly on the completed corrugated cardboard. This is a typical application scenario for flexographic printing machines. The advantage is to directly print, slot, and die cut cardboard from the production line, it can achieve high production efficiency. It is very suitable for transporting large quantities of cardboard boxes without complex requirements.
Pre print: it means to printing on the corrugated cardboard before it is formed. This process can achieve extremely high printing quality, and because it is printed before the cardboard is formed, so, it will not damage the strength of the cardboard. The strength of the cardboard after forming is even higher.

Each types of printing equipment have their own advantage: flexographic printing machines are currently the main corrugated box printing method, it wins on high efficiency and economy; Offset printing machines can meet the high-end market with extreme requirements for printing quality; Digital printing machines represent the future trend, the advantage are flexibility and personalization.
