What is corrugated cardboard?
Cardboard, also called as corrugated cardboard, it is a specially engineered material made from paper pulp. It's made by different components that work together to make it strong, lightweight and versatile. Is have special wave shape(also called corrugation) between 2 layers of cardboard.
What are the components of corrugated cardboard?
Normally, Corrugated cardboard have below components:
Inside Liner: The flat layer on the inside of the box.
Outside Liner: The flat layer on the outside of the box.
Medium: This is the wavy, arched layer in the middle. It's glued between the two liners.
This structure is incredibly effective for a simple reason: the arches of the fluting act as a built-in shock absorber and provide excellent rigidity. They create air pockets that offer cushioning and insulation, while the flat liners provide a surface for printing and protect the contents.

How many types for corrugated cardboard?
Corrugated cardboard comes in different strengths and constructions. The most common types are based on the number of layers:
Single Face: One layer of fluting glued to one flat liner. It's flexible and often used for wrapping items or as internal padding.
Single Wall : One layer of fluting between two liners. This is what you see in standard shipping boxes.
Double Wall: Three liners with two layers of fluting in between. This is much stronger and used for heavy, large, or industrial items.
Triple Wall: Four liners with three layers of fluting. This is extremely strong and can be used as a substitute for wood crates for very heavy equipment.
What are the flute types for corrugated cardboard?
Normally, we have A/B/C/E/F flute, below are each characteristics:
A Flute: thickest, excellent cushioning and stacking strength. It's best choice for fragile products.
B Flute: thin, normally used for food and vegetables packing and provides good support and protection.
C Flute: medium, suitable for lightweight product outer packaging.
E Flute: very Thin, often called "micro-flute." Has a very smooth surface ideal for high-quality printing. Used for retail packaging like pizza boxes or cosmetic boxes.
F Flute: thinnest, even smoother than E-flute, used for small electronic devices and accessories packing.
What is corrugated carton box?
Corrugated cardboard boxes are mainly made from cardboard and through some processes such as printing, die-cutting, creasing, folding, and bonding, the raw materials are corrugated cardboard.
What are the types for corrugated carton box?
Corrugated boxes have following types based on their number of layers:
3 layer corrugated carton box: made by bonding surface paper, inner paper, and a layer of corrugated core paper. It is the most widely used lightweight packaging, commonly used for express packages, daily necessities, etc.
5 layer corrugated cardboard box: made by bonding surface paper, inner paper, two layers of corrugated core paper, and one layer of intermediate core paper. Higher strength, commonly used for transportation packaging of goods that require higher protection, such as household appliances, food, and fragile items.
7 layer corrugated cardboard box: composed of multiple layers of cardboard, with extremely high strength, it can replace wooden boxes for packaging heavy motors, motorcycles, large furniture and other products
What are the applications of corrugated cardboard boxes in daily life?
Corrugated cardboard boxes are very common in our daily life, and it is the main packing material around us. Normally, it is including following parts:
1. E-commerce and express transportation

Many fruits and vegetables are directly packed into corrugated cardboard boxes with ventilation holes after harvesting, which can keep them fresh and facilitate stacking and transportation.
3. Home appliances and electronic products
From large household appliances such as televisions, refrigerators, washing machines, to small electronic products such as mobile phones and computers, customized corrugated cardboard boxes and internal cushioning structures are required for fixation and protection during transportation and storage.
4. Furniture and household items
Some simple bookshelves and chairs can even be made directly by high-strength and cleverly designed corrugated cardboard, combining creativity and environmental friendliness.
