The printing slotter die-cutting machine is make an ordinary corrugated cardboard into foldable carton box throug four closely connected processes: paper feeding, printing, slotter, slotter, creasing and die-cutting. Below are several core working units and principles:
1. Paper feeding department:
Core duty: Accurate supply and positioning
Working principle: Single sheets of cardboard are smoothly fed into the production line, and the position of each cardboard entering the next stage is ensured to be precise and error free through devices such as baffles.
2. Printing unit:
Main duty: Pattern transfer printing
Working principle: Adopt"grille roller-printing plate-cardboard" transfer process, print the ink on the cardboard surface. It normally consists of multiple units to achieve multi-color overprinting.
3. Slotting unit
Core duty: creasing and grooving
Working principle: pressing creases which easy to fold on the cardboard and cutting the request slots for the carton box to join, this is the key point to make the cardboard"stand up" into a box.
4. Die-cutting unit
Cord duty: final finalization
Working principle: use a steel knife to give pressure, cut the cardboard to final shape according to preset contour, removing excess parts.
The whole process key point is in synchronization and precision. Modern equipment is usually use PLS as brain to coordinate the movement of each units, which can ensure the printing position, slotting and die-cutting contours can fit perfectly at high speeds.

Two technical details must tell you:
The compensation for die-cutting losses: in the die-cutting unit, there is a key unit called rubber pad roller, this rolls will achieve the die-cutting process together with the template roller. The rubber pad roller is a vulnerable part, and the diameter will reduce after wear, it will result in asynchronous linear velocity with the template roller and affecting accuracy. So, high-end equipment will have a "rubber pad roller speed tracking mechanism", it will compensates for the speed difference caused by rubber pad wear in real time through a variable speed device, ensuring consistent die-cutting quality.
The evolution of precision transmission: the traditional equipment through the mechanical length and gears to transmits power, the accuracy is easily affected. The modern advanced technology is"shaftless transmission", it means each function unit(such as printing unit, slotting unit) is driven by independent servo motor and uniformly adjusted by the control system. This method will eliminate mechanical accumulation errors, it can make the equipment run more smoothly and will achieve higher accuracy in color matching and slotting.
