Cheaper Automatic Wax Soaking Production Line For Corrugated Carton
Model :1400x1100
What is a Wax Soaking Machine?
A wax soaking machine is a specialized industrial system designed to impregnate corrugated cardboard boxes (cartons) with paraffin or blended wax. Unlike a simple wax coating, the soaking process fully saturates the corrugated fiber, transforming the cardboard's properties to create a highly water-resistant and durable container.

Purpose and Benefits: Why Wax-Soak Cartons?
Standard corrugated cartons lose their strength quickly when exposed to moisture. Wax soaking solves this problem, making them ideal for:
· Wet or Cold Environments: Packaging for fresh produce (fish, meat, fruits, vegetables), ice, frozen goods, and moist agricultural products.
· High-Humidity Storage: Preventing box failure in coolers, freezers, and damp warehouses.
· Liquid Containment: Creating a barrier that prevents leaks from inside (e.g., from melting ice or product juices) and moisture ingress from outside.
Key Benefits:
· Superior Wet Strength: The wax reinforces the fibers, allowing the box to retain over 90% of its strength even when wet.
· Water Resistance: Provides an exceptional barrier against liquid water, not just humidity.
· Durability: Resists abrasion, scuffing, and crushing better than standard boxes.
· Stacking Strength: Maintains integrity under heavy loads in challenging conditions.
How It Works: The Soaking Process
The core principle is to replace the air within the flutes of the corrugated board with molten wax. The process typically follows these steps:
1. Preheating (Optional but Recommended): The formed, flat cartons (blanks) are preheated. This removes any residual moisture and brings the cardboard up to a temperature close to that of the wax, which prevents thermal shock and allows for better, faster wax penetration.
2. Immersion: The carton blanks are conveyed into a bath of molten wax (typically maintained at 170-200°C / 340-390°F).
3. Dwell Time (Soaking): The cartons are submerged for a precisely controlled period (usually 2-5 seconds). This is the critical "soaking" phase where the wax is drawn deep into the paper fibers by capillary action.
4. Drainage: The wax-saturated cartons exit the bath and are held at an angle or on a vibrating conveyor to allow excess, surface-level wax to drain off back into the bath. This step is crucial to control wax add-on and prevent messy, dripping boxes.
5. Cooling & Setting: The cartons pass through a cooling station, often using forced air or misting water, to rapidly solidify the wax both on the surface and within the fibers. This "sets" the box into its new, rigid, waterproof form.
6. Stacking & Packaging: The finished, hardened boxes are automatically stacked and prepared for shipment.
