What is a printing slotting die-cutting machine?
The printing slotting die-cutting machine is the main equipment that combine three processes of printing, slotting, die-cutting on the corrugated box production line. Normally, the workflow is: put a blank corrugated cardboard enter the machine, go through paper feeding, printing, slotting and die-cutting process, when it comes out on last step, it is already become a "finished product" with beautiful printing and precise creases that can be directly folded and glued into a cardboard box.

How does each step operation?
Paper feeding department:
This is the starting step for whole machine. The cardboard will put to the workbench and accurately positioned by front, back, left, and right baffles, then, the vacuum adsorption system will firmly hold and flatten the cardboard, smoothly feed it into the next process by the paper feeding wheel. The aim is to ensure that every piece of paper enters the machine with the same shape and speed, laying a good foundation for coming printing and die-cutting process.
Printing department:
This is the step which endue cardboard boxes with "beautiful color". Normally, the printing department is composed for many printing units, with common configurations including 3, 4, 5, or even 6 colors.
The core principle use "indirect transfer" to print ink on the cardboard.
The colored pattern is made into a printing plate and wrapped around the printing roller.
The mesh roller evenly put ink from the ink cartridge and then transfer them to the printing plate.
When the corrugated cardboard passed between the printing roller and the impression cylinder, the pattern on the printing plate is clearly printed on the cardboard.
By using several units of color matching and layering, the cardboard will appear the colorful pattern and words which request by us.
Slotting department:
Once printing is finished, the cardboard will enter the slotting step, which is the pivotal step in transforming it from a flat cardboard into a box.
This step include two coherent actions:
Creasing: First, the pre- pressing wheel and the line pressing wheel will press straight and smooth crease lines on the cardboard where it needs to be folded. This step will ensures that the subsequent folding is square and prevents the cardboard from bursting at the crease.
Slotting: when the top and bottom cutting blades during the rotation process, they will cut off the excess part at the junction of the cardboard box, forming four overlapping and adhesive "box tongues" to prepare for the final molding.
Die cutting department:
This is the final shaping process and it is the key to determining the final outline and details of the cardboard box. Now, most modern equipment use soft roller die-cutting method.
The working principle is: a roller wrapped in a special polyurethane soft sleeve rotates relative to a roller (die-cutting roller) equipped with a steel cutting die. When the cardboard passes between them, the knife mold cooperate with the soft sleeve, accurately "cuts" the cardboard according to the pre designed contour, which can be a common square, also can be an irregular window, or other shapes.
This soft roller die-cutting method, due to the model knife cut the different position on the rubber pad roller each time, which greatly extends the service life for the rubber pad, roller each time, usually, it can bear 10 to 12 million die-cutting cycles.

A fully automatic printing slotter die-cutting machine can achieve an integrated flow operation for paper feeding, printing, creasing, slotting, and die-cutting steps. A modern equipment are generally computer-controlled by PLCs and touch screens, technician just need to set all parameters on the screen, the machine can automatically complete the adjustment, color matching, and order memory for each process, the advantage is high efficient, and the processing accuracy can reach to ± 0.5mm, it is an indispensable core equipment in the modern packaging industry.
