The core idea of maintenance is "prevention first, maintenance as a supplement". Establishing and strictly implementing maintenance systems is key.
1、 Daily maintenance (per shift/per day)
This is the most basic and important maintenance, carried out by the operator.
Pre startup inspection (pre shift):
Cleaning work: Thoroughly clean the surface of the machine, cylinders (mesh rollers, plate cylinders, impression cylinders), ink path system, paper feeding table, and paper receiving section for residual ink, paper scraps, and dust.
Lubrication inspection: Check whether the oil level of the main lubrication points (such as guide rails, chains, and bearing seats) is normal, and manually add an appropriate amount of oil to the filling points.
Air pressure check: Confirm whether the main air source pressure is within the required range of the equipment (usually 0.6-0.8 MPa), check the air filter and remove any accumulated water.
Ink system: Check if the ink pump is running normally, if the ink circulation pipeline is unobstructed, and if there are no leaks.
Safety devices: Check whether all safety covers, emergency stop buttons, and photoelectric protection devices are intact and effective.
Observation during operation (in shift):
Listen to the sound: Pay attention to whether there are any abnormal noises or impact sounds from the machine.
Check the operation: Observe whether each component runs smoothly and whether there are any abnormal vibrations.
Quality check: Indirectly judge the equipment status through the quality of printed materials (such as inaccurate color matching, exposed white, and dirty printing).
Maintenance after shutdown (after shift):
Thoroughly Clean: Ink Path System: Immediately clean the ink hopper, scraper, web roller, and ink tube. Prevent ink from drying up and clogging.
Plate cylinder: Remove the plate and clean it thoroughly, check for any damage.
Machine surface and interior: Clean all paper scraps, accumulated ink, and garbage.
Relax pressure: Remove the pressure between the impression cylinder and the mesh roller of each printing unit to prevent deformation of the cylinder.
Fill in the record: Record the on duty operation and any abnormalities found on the equipment maintenance record form.
2、 Regular maintenance (weekly/monthly)
Implemented by operators or dedicated maintenance workers, a plan must be developed and strictly enforced.
Weekly maintenance:
Comprehensive cleaning: Deeply clean the interior of the machine, electrical cabinets (after power failure!), transmission components, etc.
Lubrication: Supplement or replace lubricating oil/grease at all designated lubrication points.
Key component inspection:
Ink scraper: Check for wear and replace or sharpen if necessary.
Bearings: Check for looseness and abnormal noise in the main transmission bearings and drum bearings.
Gears and chains: Check for wear and adjust the tightness.
Air system: Clean or replace the air filter element, and check for air leaks at the air pipe joints.
Monthly/Quarterly Maintenance:
Accuracy check: Check and calibrate the color accuracy of the machine.
Motor and driver: Check the operating status and driver parameters of the main motor and servo motor.
Comprehensive tightening: Check and tighten all screws and bolts, especially key structural components such as bases and wall panels.
Drum jumping detection: If possible, a dial gauge can be used to check whether the radial jumping of the main drum is within the allowable range.
Electrical components: Check for erosion in relays, contactors, switches, etc. and clean them.
3、 Special maintenance of key components
Mesh roller - the "heart" of the equipment
Daily: Each shift must be thoroughly cleaned, using specialized cleaning agents and soft brushes, and the use of hard objects such as steel wire balls is prohibited.
Storage: The disassembled mesh roller should be hung vertically for storage to prevent collision and deformation.
Protection: Strictly prevent scratching blades or foreign objects from damaging the mesh during operation.
Regular: Conduct professional deep cleaning or outsourcing ultrasonic cleaning regularly to restore ink transfer performance.
Ink scraper system
Installation: Ensure that the scraper is installed smoothly and the pressure is even and moderate. Excessive pressure can accelerate the wear of the mesh roller and scraper.
Wear and tear: Regularly inspect the blade and replace it immediately if there are gaps or uneven wear.
Cleaning: Keep the scraper holder clean to prevent dry ink from accumulating and affecting pressure.
Printing plate cylinder and bearings
Cleaning: Clean the surface of the printing plate and cylinder after each use.
Balance: Ensure consistent circumference when installing the printing plate to avoid uneven force on the cylinder.
Bearing: Regularly listen to the sound of the bearing, add high-temperature lubricating grease on time, and replace it immediately if any abnormal noise is found.
Transmission system (gears, chains, belts)
Lubrication: Use appropriate lubricating oil/grease to maintain good lubrication.
Tension: Regularly check and adjust the tension of the belt and chain.
Cleaning: Prevent ink and dust from adhering to transmission components.
pneumatic system
Drainage: Drain the accumulated water in the air filter every day.
Filter element: Regularly replace the filter element and lubricating oil of the air filter and oil mist device.
Cylinder: Check if the cylinder operates smoothly and if there is any air leakage.
4、 Safety operation and maintenance standards
Safety first: Any maintenance and cleaning work must be carried out after completely shutting down and cutting off the power supply. Hang a warning sign reading 'No Closing'.
Locking energy: When conducting internal maintenance, be sure to lock the power and gas sources.
Use the correct tools and consumables: use lubricants, cleaning agents, and spare parts recommended by the manufacturer.
Establish maintenance records: Detailed records of the time, content, identified issues, and replaced parts for each maintenance. This is the foundation for conducting predictive maintenance.
Regular training: Provide regular training to operators and maintenance personnel to ensure they are familiar with equipment structure and maintenance procedures.

Through systematic and institutionalized maintenance, your corrugated box printing machine will be able to create maximum value for you in the long term.
